Giving Back
From the beginning, it was important for Clear Spaces to give back to help others. In 2019 Love, Inc. Heartland in Delano was the non-profit selected. In 2020 we gave to the Equal Justice Initiative. In 2021 we donated to Inverted Arts. In 2022 we donated locally to Cross Food Shelf. For 2023 we gave to MN foodshelves (Interfaith Outreach + PRISM). We also contributed to Aging Up and the Orono Rotary. In 2024 we gave to Friends of the Hennepin County Library, Living Water International, Second Harvest Food Shelf, Minnesota Public Radio, and repeated gifts to Interfaith Outreach, PRISM, and Inverted Arts. You can read about these non-profits and click the links below to learn more about what they do.
Love, Inc. Heartland in Delano, MN works with neighbors in need in the West Metro of the Twin Cities, Minnesota. The volunteers and staff care deeply for the community they serve. They gratefully accept donations to resell and use the money to provide free classes on managing stress, parenting, financial literacy, and more. Clear Spaces was happy to donate to this non-profit in 2019.
The Equal Justice Initiative is committed to ending mass incarceration and excessive punishment in the United States. EJI also challenges racial and economic injustice and works to protect basic human rights for the most vulnerable people. Clear Spaces was honored to donate to this non-profit in 2020.
Second Harvest is based in Brooklyn Park, MN. Their goal is to make hunger history. They serve local Minnesota families and are able to buy food in bulk at a discount so when you give to this non-profit the food literally multiplies. We gave to Second Harvest in 2024.
Cross is a non-profit organization offering support services to families and individuals in need. They have a food shelf in Rogers, MN. They also offer financial and children’s programs, mental health services, employment support, and budgeting assistance. We were excited to partner with this super local non-profit in 2022.
Prism in Golden Valley, MN provide dignity-centered services for people in need. They provide food, housing, and basic needs. Prism also gratefully accept food, clothing and household donations to support to the community. Clear Spaces donated to this non-profit in 2023 and 2024.
Interfaith Outreach in Plymouth, MN is committed to providing support to families in the west metro for food, housing, clothing, and household goods. They are a local community partner that accepts donations for these needs and has a secondhand store called “Resale Collect” where sales go back to support the community.
Inverted Arts began in Minneapolis, MN and now operates from Washington state. IA creates opportunities for young people from under-served communities locally and around the world to discover their creative voices through various artistic mediums. Students learn more about their value and potential while unleashing their creativity. Each creative work leads to personal and community development and in some cases- a career or small business! We were excited to donate to Inverted Arts in 2021 and 2024.
I have to be honest, my main reason for donating to the Library is because they removed library fines (which I love- more equitable!). I still aim to return on time or early, but every so often, I’m late and want to find a way to still give money to the local library. I love to read and love the free events they provide to the community and the library itself! We were excited to donate here in 2024.
